| About the First Colony Gators Swim Team | ||||
| The First Colony Gators are members of the Southwest Houston Summer Recreational | ||||
| Swim League, a group of 20+ teams swimming in Southwest Houston and nearby suburbs. | ||||
| The team was started in 1980 with 23 swimmers. We now have approximately 200 | ||||
| swimmers on the team every year. The league is open to swimmers aged 3 to 18 on | ||||
| May 31st of the year. The team practices and hold home meets at the Colony Grant | ||||
| Lap pool located at 2475 Robinsons Ferry. | ||||
| Our season practices start after school the first week in May. They then move to | ||||
| mornings when school ends and continue through mid July. | ||||
| We typically have 6 or more coaches who frequently get in the water while teaching | ||||
| the younger groups. This is a great place for your kids to learn to swim. We have | ||||
| literally taught hundreds of kids to swim over the years. | ||||
| Our meets are on Monday nights starting the first Monday after school ends. Our | ||||
| season consists of six Dual meets (one home meet and one away meet against each of | ||||
| three other teams, which make up a division). The dual meets are followed by a | ||||
| division Prelims Meet and a division Finals Meet and finally the fastest swimmers | ||||
| from each division compete in a league wide All Star Meet. | ||||
